IDDA is a collaborative winery founded in 2017 by renowned winemaker Angelo Gaja and Sicilian producer Alberto Graci. Located on the southwestern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily, IDDA focuses on producing high-quality wines from indigenous varieties, particularly Carricante for whites and
Nerello Mascalese for reds. The name "IDDA," meaning "she" in Sicilian dialect, reflects the locals' reverence for the volcano. Vineyards are situated at elevations between 600 and 800 meters above sea level, benefiting from volcanic soils and a unique microclimate. The winery emphasizes sustainable practices and minimal intervention winemaking to showcase the distinct terroir of Etna.

The IDDA 2022 Etna Rosso DOP offers a refined expression of Nerello Mascalese from the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna. On the nose, it reveals fragrant notes of wild red berries, dried rose petals, and a hint of flint and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is elegant and taut, with bright acidity, fine-grained tannins, and a mineral backbone that speaks to the lava-rich soils. Layers of sour cherry, blood orange, and subtle spice lead to a lingering, savory finish. A wine of finesse and structure, it beautifully balances power and grace.
