The 2021 Chateau du Moulin-a-Vent “La Rochelle” is a compelling expression of Gamay from one of Beaujolais’ most esteemed single vineyards.  Crafted from 80 to 90 year old vines rooted in granite-rich soils, this wine offers a deep, structured profile.  On the nose, it presents aromas of violets, ripe red fruits, and subtle herbal notes like sage and gentian complemented by hints of gunflint and spice.  The palate is full-bodied and dense, showcasing flavors of black plum, juicy cherry, and concentrated spice, all supported by pronounced tannins and a lingering mineral finish.  This wine’s complexity and balance have earned it high praise.
