Crafted from Old Wente and Montrachet clones grown in Goldridge soils, this Chardonnay offers a bouquet of Meyer lemon, orchard fruit, burnt sugar, candied orange peel, mint, cut hay, and panna cotta, complemented by bright acidity and refreshing minerality. On the palate, it unfolds with layers of peach and quince, accented by nuances of Greek yogurt, beeswax, panna cotta, and flaky pastry. The wine's natural richness is structured by a focused spine of acidity, leading to a tremendously long finish. Critics have lauded this vintage, with James Suckling awarding it 97 points, highlighting its subtle lemon curd and custard notes, and describing it as having "tension and clarity in the extremely long, racy and intense finish”. This Chardonnay is expected to drink well through 2034, showcasing the exceptional quality of the 2021 vintage. |
